Indian Ayurvedic Home Remedies for PCOS or PCOD

How to make cinnamon tea for PCOS:
Take 3 inch long cinnamon and break it into small pieces. Add these pieces to 2 cups of water and boil it till it reduces to ½ cup. Allow it to warm down. When it is just warm add 1 tea spoon of honey and 1 tea spoon of fresh lemon juice. Drink this tea twice daily.
Turmeric for PCOS:
Turmeric is eulogised by Ayurveda acharyas as friend of women. Its benefits are praised globally after a thorough research by scientists. This spice helps to control blood sugar level, management of body weight and improve blood cholesterol level. Apart from these turmeric also helps to get rid of acne, pimple and unwanted facial hair. The health benefits of bitter melon are it detoxifies liver and blood, helps to manage weight loss, reduces blood cholesterol and aids to control blood sugar level. How to use Bitter gourd for PCOS ?:
Take a medium sized karela or bitter gourd. Cut its ends and slit it into two pieces to remove seeds. Take one piece and chop it finely. Add a cup of water and blend it in a mixer. Strain the juice to remove fibres. Add a tea spoon of honey to this juice and consume twice daily after food.
Amla or Indian Gooseberry or Amalaki :
Amla is the restorative herb and store of bio molecules which are of immense medicinal value. It helps in all most all health conditions like obesity, diabetes, PCOS, hair loss etc.
How to use Amla in PCOS :
Here are the Indian home remedies for PCOS using amla.
- Fresh amla fruit: Eat two fresh amla fruit in empty stomach in morning and as well as in evening.
- Amla juice: 10 ml of amla juice can be taken twice daily in empty stomach with a glass of water and a tea spoon of honey. This has to be taken in empty stomach.
- Amla Tea – Boil a tea spoon of dry amla powder or 4 – 5 pieces of dry amla in 2 cups of water till it reduces to half cup. Allow it to warm down. Add a tea spoon of honey when it is just warm. Ginger or Shunti or adrak :

Ginger has innumerable healing properties. It helps in weight management, effectively controls blood sugar, boosts metabolism, ups female fertility, warms up body and boosts blood circulation. How to use ginger in PCOS:
It can be used in the following ways
- Cut an inch of ginger into julienne. Mix this with two tea spoons of honey. Chew this mix twice daily.
- Prepare ginger tea. Crush one inch of fresh ginger and boil it in a glass of water. Allow it to warm down. Add a tea spoon of honey when it is just warm and drink it. Use this tea twice daily.
- Mix grated ginger to your smoothies, buttermilk or salads.
